Couples sessions are so much fun.
One of my favorite things about being a boudoir photographer is photographing couples. I love being able to capture the intimate connection that two people have. At first, I was hesitant about offering couples sessions for a number of reasons. Mostly, I was worried that it would be super awkward for the couple and that it would show in the photos. Surprisingly, That’s not the case at all. Of course, there’s the initial awkwardness of every boudoir photography session, but that usually melts away pretty quick. What I’ve found with working with two people that love each other is, that they know what to do. They know how to look at each other, they know how to touch each other, and they know how to be genuinely intimate without it looking forced.
Boudoir photoshoot at the Tybee Inn
I recently had the pleasure of doing a collaborative shoot at a bed and breakfast on Tybee with Jess of The Hustle and Blow Dry Bar and KateĀ of A Brave Mess. Jess originally approached me with the idea of doing a styled couples boudoir photography shoot at a bed and breakfast on Tybee Island, and I was all in. When I photograph someone, I prefer it to be one on one and in an intimate setting free of distractions. My biggest concern for this shoot… I was worried that with eight people in an unfamiliar setting, the images wouldn’t have the same intimate feel that I strive for. Once we got into the groove, everyone did amazing.
Here are a few of my favorite images from the shoot.
This was a fun couples session that allowed me to step out of my comfort zone a little. Working in an unfamiliar space with difficult lighting was a fun challenge and everyone involved was amazing.
